Side box complete with outlet
- Ensure the gutter around the side box is clean and dry. Blow dry with heat gun if damp
- Continue to roll the liner two metres beyond the side box ensuring the liner is pressed firmly into the gutter creases. This will prevent air pockets and form a solid base to weld the side box to the liner
- Using a Stanley knife, cut around the side box removing the section of liner
- Pin the liner either side of the sump box, one fixing 35mm into the gutter sole from the gutter crease and 35mm up the gutter slope from the gutter crease
- Using the 200mm rule, pin the liner every 200mm across the gutter sole and up the gutter slopes if required
- Ensure Sharmans Fixing Caps are installed over all fixings prior to welding
- Push the side box through the hole in the liner ready for welding
- The weakest point of any weld is the crease lines on the gutter sole. Weld the side box at these points first
- Fully weld the flange on the side box to the gutter sole followed by the gutter slope to complete the installation
- Allow the sump box to cool before probe testing the weld
- Any un-welded area’s will have to be re-welded and again probe tested once cool
