Joining liner to liner (liner jointing kit)

  • Ensure the gutter around the joint is clean and dry. Blow dry with heat gun if damp
  • Continue to roll the first liner up to the joint
  • Overlap the second liner onto the first liner by a minimum of 50mm
  • Firmly press both liners into the gutter creases. This will prevent air pockets and form a solid base to weld the liner jointing kit to the liner
  • Using the specified fixings supplied, pin both liners through the overlap 25mm from the gutter crease onto the sole x 2 and 25mm up the gutter slope x 2
  • Using the 100mm rule pin the liner 100mm across the gutter sole and 100mm up the gutter slopes
  • Place the liner jointing kit (weld material) over the top of the fixed liner area ready for welding
  • The weakest point of any weld is the crease lines on the gutter sole. Weld at these points first ensuring the liner jointing kit is pressed firmly into the gutter creases
  • Tack weld both gutter soles followed by the gutter slopes. This will leave six pockets to weld
  • Fully weld all six pockets to complete the installation
  • Allow the liner jointing kit to cool before probe testing the weld
  • Any un-welded areas will need to be re-welded and again probe tested once cool
