A corrosion problem, put to bed with the Plygene® Gutterline system.

Leaking gutters were proving to be a long-term headache at the premises of Burnley based bed and mattress manufacturer, Sweet Dreams.

The award-winning Lancashire business had a roof with cast iron gutters which had severely corroded over time.

Following a detailed site survey, it was clear that a comprehensive gutter refurbishment solution was required in order to secure permanent leak prevention. Specifying the Plygene Gutterline system with its market leading BBA accredited 25 year guarantee was the obvious answer.

The gutter refurbishment programme was carried out by Sharmans Trained Contractor, Dale Construction.

Commenting on the challenges faced during the work, Sharmans Technical Services Manager, Danny Wright said:

‘Tight time constraints and the building design made this a very complex project. ‘The gutter had failing joints, a badly corroded surface and significant standing water in the middle sections. Moreover, access was restricted as the gutter was narrow but quite deep.

‘Despite these challenges, the project was completed on time by utilising Plygene Gutterline’s bespoke factory moulded components to reduce site time and complexity.’
