Please refer to the current health & safety guide health & safety guide when drilling holes in highly bonded materials, including asbestos cement.
For a typical installation, as illustrated, the two fasteners at the end require washers and the four in the gutter don’t.
The ‘200 rule’ should always be adhered to when determining how many fixings are required in the pinning region.
The 200 rule
The maximum gap permitted between fixings within the pinning region is 200mm.
For example, one additional fixing would be required for a 300mm gap between fixings, to bisect at 150mm, while two additional fixings would be required for a 600mm gap – one at 200mm and one at 400mm.
