Remember, when drilling holes in asbestos cement and other highly bonded materials, to refer to the current health & safety guide.
The illustration shows a typical installation including four fasteners without washers and two fasteners with washers.
To determine how many fixings are required within pinning regions, the ‘200 rule’ should be always be followed.
The 200 rule
Put simply, the maximum permitted gap between fixings within the pinning region is 200mm.
For example, a 300mm gap between fixings should be bisected at 150mm (requiring one additional fixing) and a 600mm gap should be bridged with two additional fixings (one at 200mm and one at 400mm).
