Remember to refer to the current health & safety guide when drilling holes in highly bonded materials such as asbestos cement.
The usual ‘200 rule’ for bespoke moulded unit fixings doesn’t apply to outlets, which instead must comply with rules dependent on diameter.
Fixing requirements for outlets
For outlets of diameters up to and including 200mm, four fixings should be used, as illustrated above.
This requirement rises to six fixings for outlet diameters above 200mm.
