Refer to the current health & safety guide when drilling holes into asbestos cement and other highly bonded materials.
The illustration above details an installation with eight fasteners – remember to follow the ‘200 rule’ in order to determine how many fixings are required within pinning regions.
The 200 rule
In the pinning region, the maximum gap permitted between fixings is 200mm.
So, for a 300mm gap, an additional fixing is required to bisect at 150mm and a 600mm gap is bridged with two further fixings (one at 200mm and one at 400mm).
