Under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health 2002 (COSHH) regulations, employers have a legal duty to provide adequate training to limit employees’ exposure to harmful substances in the workplace.

Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 states that ‘any employee liable to be exposed to asbestos must be given sufficient information, instruction and training to ensure they can safeguard themselves, can protect their fellow employees and are able to carry out their work effectively’.
Sharmans assumes that all contractors are following their own Health & Safety procedures and have completed appropriate training.
This includes compiling risk assessments and method statements for each individual job where asbestos cement products are present.
